i grew up in darwin sailing nearly everyday and loved it
its an awesome place with great people! i was kiteing there for a year just before i left. i had to move to perth cos the wind just wasnt strong enough in darwin

there is wind most days but it doesnt get very strong.
with the amout of time i spent swiming there while i was trying to learn on my 2000 wipika freeair i can vouch that the crocs are not a prob but the stingers are

you have to wear long pants and long sleves and have some vinigar on the beach ready to go.
back when i was there there was a group of about 10 kiters in darwin and we all kited off the rapid creek carpark near where limbs used to be (but i think its called the arafura center now). i have heard that everybody kites out of the casurina surf lifesaving club and at lee point these days. another good spot was behind the sand bar in fannybay but the all time best spot was bare sand island about 4-5 hours sail out of darwin harbour.
its light winds but darwin more than makes up for it with great people and realy good times!!!!
