Hi,
I'm getting posted to Darwin for a few weeks in October for work. Being a New Zealander, I don't know too much about the place (eg: will it be the sharks or crocs that eat me first, or are the box jellyfish the main evil?). So, can you buy stinger suits if you need them and how reliable is the wind in October? I'll probably only have a couple of weekends available so want to know if it's likely to be good.
And no lies just to try and lessen the world of New Zealanders! I won't mention the rugby, promise.

Hey steve
I worked up near darwin on a pearl farm for a few months, so i know a bit about what is in the water. This is what the main threats to your life are: Tiger sharks, Saltwater crocs, iruganji (not sure how to spell that one), box jellyfish and stonefish. I know that people often kite in broome most of the year round. A stinger suit might be a good idea if you are up there during the wet season which starts around november i think. This is the time of the year when all the stingers come out to play. The tiger sharks and crocs shouldn't give ya to much grief, stingers are your main concern. Hope this helps
Regards
Tim
