G'day,

have you got a wrecked, moth-eaten, pig-of-a-f'n-thing, old kite that you haven't thrown out yet?

Don't throw it out, not into the bin anyway...

I'm mucking about with making and modding kites... too much spare-time and nothing worth watching on TV

So far I've had one success with a complete rebuild of an Airblast 10 with a few new tricks added. For those interested it took about 40 hrs of marking, cutting and sewing... but it flies, IT FLIES!! [}:)] anyway, I'm happy with it

Please e-mail if you've got anything that you're done with.

Regards to all,
Azza.

Hi Azza

nice thought..i was thinking about you calling Lisa from Tassie and asking her for that beauty Blue number she brought to Fiji with us last year.

I caught up with her last night in sydney, took the safe option of a beer on the water....didn't want to blast her off the water with a kite..and couldn't stand the potential beating when she finally caught up with me......

Lisa said she has again had to repair it, after that disasterous "blowout" in Fiji!!!

Lots of good goss, esp. about Kiting in Tassie and Hobarts' "secret Spot"...so she is lovin it in Tassie, but needs more buddies to launch for her....a little lonely in Tassie i believe!

Good luck with your project of Mods to kites..

Hi Tim

Lisa has all the secrets..she is sailing tomorrow on a tall Ship back to Tassie, for the Tall ship regatta in Hobart, so she will be home in two weeks.

Email me your mobile no and i'll forward it to Lisa..she won't be on the net on board, but will be when she arrives in Hobart.

she was really hoping more people in Hobart would be kiting..but alas..she is still looking...appears two just left for Perth (2 doctors) to chase the wind, so she is really really depressed about loosing her buddies....

Get down there and rip it up with her...she would love it!

Rgds

Some of the earlier kites where great designs but most of the materials available at the time just weren't up to the job of being a kite... just like Lisa's blue ripper. When a kite stalls and falls, LE down on the water, the sail shouldn't "explode"... those are expected forces that a kite should be able to endure... especially when you're thousands of kms from home on a well-earned holiday.

Warren, you must be feeling the effects of being a father; you're becoming far too conservative! Even if Lisa did catch you, what possible bodily harm could she do to you that wouldn't heal, mostly, given enough time?! I'll give her a bell re: blue ripper.

loose fin, you'll definitely enjoy launching Lisa's kite; she's a real character with an infectious sense of humour... if you don't have smile lines, on your face, already you will have after a short while of kiting in Tassie. BTW (and I didn't say this) brush-up on your hand-to-hand combat

Azza
