Has anyone heard of a freak accident on the gold coast today 19/04 that has claimed the life of a kitesurfer? Not too sure if it is true or rumour.

Man drowns in rough surf
Rough conditions on Queensland's Gold Coast have claimed a life, with a man drowning at Currumbin late today.
The 48-year-old had returned from kite surfing and was trying to step up on to rocks at the mouth of the Currumbin Creek, when he was hit by a wave.
Lifesavers pulled him from the water a short time later and attempted to resuscitate him, however he died at the scene.
Wild conditions resulted in about 20 rescues on beaches across the Gold Coast today.
