Been out of kiting for a while.
Just a bit of advice please.
Is my 2009 Naish Torch (probably only used a couple of times) worth the effort of trying to sell ?
Or is it a throw away job ?

In my experience Naish kites 2012 and older often start getting problems with the female octopus system valves failing even when the kite may seem mint - i have had to replace alot this year........

I suggest pumping it up and leaving to test if this is the case or not - if its solid you may get some $ for it or find a youngster keen for a ride. Failing that as Cauncy said I'll happily make some beanbags/kite bags from it :-)

Not everyone needs to buy into the sales bull****..and if u do and yr a novice and listen to the shop then get bored of it a mnth later or have an injury u r an idiot whose been brainwashed because u knew no better & just wasted 2grand anyway

You are spot on mate, ive got new gear but I have kept my old 2009 9m torch for when conditions line up. Fixed all struts a couple years ago except I some how misplaced the centre strut....?? so have been on the look out since!

I passed my old kite on to someone in need, find the right person, finished lessons and in need of a kite to learn on.

I'm 100% with you here, but those old octopus valves are doomed.

I have 3 torches in the garage (mint cond, valves all farrked) its the most frustrating thing ever, because I love those kites and cant bring myself to send them to my enviro group to make them into beach bags juuust yet

All the females all twisted and warped, putting their bits away.

Like my wife haha

Mate if it holds air (rare!) and canopy still intact without any tears, I would keep it. Torch's are good kites. Or post it to me and I'll remove that stupid Octopus valve system and convert it into one-pump.
