I lost my old leash been using one of these babies for the time being, a few of the crew I been riding with including myself have had our kites fly off a number of times.

I think the clip used is called a G clip? anyway a few times this has just come off when we havent been watching somehow.

Also the quick realease casing slides down and if you dont keep pushing it up it will just go bang and quick realease on your when you dont want it.

Anyway didn't want to bleed on about slingshot and stuff just really wantd to know if others have had the same problem because thats the last thing u want. Make some people aware. You probably wouldnt notice these problems unless your testing the leash out a fair few times each session.

Also i have seen a fair few leashes almost identical (red quick release cylinder with arrows on it) thought?

Don't know if the 07 is the same as the 06 but it sounds like the same clip. The 06 leash is complete garbage, I lost my kite several times with the leash spontaneously detaching at both ends. I replaced the clip at the harness end with a screw locking one and modified the fifth line attachment by putting an extra small extension lark's head on it with a knot large enough to prevent it going through the fifth line cleat (everyone I know with a SS has lost the wave grenade, it just falls off and the fifth line slips through the cleat). The fifth line now connects with a hole just big enough for the clip to fit though, I had been hooking the clip through a large loop but the clip would roll over and detach.

Not a very good description but the 06 leash out the box is no good, I would have replaced both of the spring clips with locking ones but the fifth line connection clip is stitched into the leash.

well you could say im posting this at the wrong time, since it was only about 1 hr ago that my 06 slingshot bar broke in 2. Now thats not very fun when your out the back in the surf with no board and no control of your kite. I havent had problems with my leash it actual held when my bar broke, but i also have tie off the gerande so it would slip. But my quick release has fail a couple of times and got me into sticky situtions, i dont like the quick release loop at all.

Hey cam you mean around the red and the black bit or just the bulk up the black bit so it won't budge? Does the Quick release still work after you modded up?
