I actually think I could do this and be fast when the wind is up...SE would be perfect. The problem is I wouldn't get to work, but just stay out there...

Gruzie! You know we all kite to work! We wear those famous attractive plastic suits of poor rellies so our work clothes dont get ruined, and attatch our work documents and other apparal to the inside of these plastic suits... Rellie brags that it's the most comfortable way, unless there's something your note tell me rellie!!

I could walk down to melville (about 1500m, if i go out south of the windsurfing car park). Then kite to pelican point, and goto uni. But I would be wet and have my gear and it would only work in the afternoon, when i would skip uni anyway. Then to get back would be a good 3-4k's upwind, and if the wind died i'd end up near the freeway. I did melville to peli before when it was a westerly, but I forgot about the wind shadow at peli point. Ended up getting back to majestic as the wind was dieing, was a ****en long walk back carrying a 16.5m kite.

so its possible but not probable

one of the main reasons i bought a dirtsurfer so i could kite to work.
would be soooo cool cruising up the bike path on the freeway with the dirt being powered by the kite
unfortunatly safety issues, a caring wife, and lack of funds prevented me
