I just finished my helicopter licence and had a fully choice and sic idea.
Kite chopper filming.
If anyone is interested let me know - it would have to be Brisbane or Gold Coast and when its less than 30 knots.
To cover all my insurance and maintenance and fuel id need like 5 hundgy for an hour.
I had a little looksy at the real businesses and its about twelve hundgy for an hour.
give us a message if youre keen, ive got a canon 40D and a decent quality miniDV cam (but it doesnt have much zoomy)
id probably have to get an ICO thing which will cost me money so just wondering if anyone would want it?

Hi All

I am a Professional Helicopter Pilot that flies a Search and Rescue machine. I have a lot of experience with helicopters including a small amount of film and photography work.

I personally would give this one a wide berth. Low level filming is one of the most dangerous activities one can do in a helicopter. There are many risks involved and commercially this is only done by experienced pilots(2000 hours plus). There have been many fatal accidents involving experienced pilots let alone guys with a fresh licence (60-125 hours)

Aside from the risk to the camera man on board it is entirely possible to lose control of the helicopter and risk ANY third parties on the ground or in the water.

Paying a company to conduct film work will cost a lot more than this but I would rather pay knowing that the work will be done using professionals and flown in the safest possible way.

Dutchey1985 I can only guess you have posted this to assist in your hour building? Do you have an AOC? is the aircraft even yours? I hope if its not the owner is aware of your intentions. If CASA catches you, you will ruin any possibility of having a career in aviation or of setting a business up if the aircraft is yours. If you crash insurance will not pay up and you will be liable for any pending lawsuits or damages. Finally if you Kill someone you will go to jail for manslaughter. If I was you I would remove your topic and think twice before offering these services to anyone. Getting a start in the industry is very hard but this is not the way to do it mate.

If anyone would like any further information PLEASE pm me before considering this offer as I do not want to see anyone injured or killed because they do not understand the risks that someone else is prepared to take for their own benefit.

No pilots do not need to spell, or in my case type either. I apologise for the poor spelling in my original post and have edited in the hope that my MESSAGE will be read.
I have nothing against Dutchy in fact I have no idea who he is. My original post explains my reasons for posting. If given that knowledge you would use these services that is up to you.

Well spotted kiteboy dave, I guess he got me line and sinker. Unfortunaty there have been many accidents where young guys have had access to a machine through their parents money etc. Sad endings mostly.
Dutchy why dont you stop been an oxygen waster and take up fishing, it appears you could do well.

I've lost my chopper licence already for drink choppering, got dobbed in at archerfield by some 'unknown' but I think I know who it was and he usually drinks jager while flying his cessna
