Can anyone who went to Kitestock last year remember whether mobile phones work up there, and if so does anyone know which companies work on their own network and if they dont have their own network up there, do they default to another providers network and if so which ones.

Hope you can help as my Mrs is going to be driving up to join me and I want to be able to contact her.

Cheers
Lemm

Virgin worked.
Telstra should work.
I think 3 didn't.

There was definitely problems with some of the "major" carriers. I was suprised my Virgin phone worked and my mates 3 (i think), roamed to optus but wouldn't work

Hi Kitestockers,

Our friends at the Priory Hotel have advised that Telstra and Optus mobile phones do not work well, and sometimes not at all, in Dongara/Port Denison.

You may need to think about reverting to the old fashioned address book and 50c in your pocket!

Alternatively go futuristic and bring you satellite phone :)

One week to go - Yay!

Or my personal favourite, go incommunicado. Not that that will help you Lemming. You want to borrow a couple of my pocket 2-way radios? They don't have much range though, only a couple of kilometres. She could have one with her on the drive up and call you on the other one when she gets in range of the beach.
