Have a 2019 near new duotone Evo. Kiited for years but only go every 4-6 months these days. Only about the 4th time I've used it and that main inflation valve has, I think, crapped out as it spins completely around and around now-and air just comes straight out once ithe kite's got a bit of pressure. Never had one fail before....or is there a trick I'm not aware of? Thanks a ton!

Stevet, sometimes a bit of sand get stuck , but by your description , you probly have snapped the sort of " STOPPER " inside the inflation valve by twisting and maybe forcing it a bit with the hose connection too far, either side inside it.
1 quick solution is to have someone holding the hose connection down the valve to avoid air cominn out "MAYBE " while you r pumpinn inflating.
2 is to change the inflation valve, by removing the leading edge bladder, and stick a new one. tricky if you have NEVER done it yourself before , personnaly i would give it to a pro repair to be fixed, the kind of WA RYAN repair but in your NSW area of course
3 is to change the whole leading edge bladder , but very costly.
4 is someone on this forum to know a bit more than me
hope it helps

Thanks for the confirmation Riviere. Yep, it's stuffed by the sounds. Disappointing for a duotone. They are usually very reliable. Appreciate the suggestion to get it replaced professionally. Did look at the stick on valve pack..... but agree to get a pro to do it.

Hi Steve.

As mentioned above i have sorted this problem in a couple of different ways. Give me a buzz to talk through options if you like.

I have had similar, but found by blasting it it with air (just using the pump and a fine nozzle) cleared the sand which caused the issue. But if yours is spinning 360degress freely then its broken.
Duotone make great kites but they have useless fittings. I wont be buying a new one until they replace these valves (i have missed too many session because of them).
I wish there was a way to give feed back to the designers as there are a number of major issues (1 is a serious danger) and I've read of others who experience the same.

You can give them feedback by just spamming photos and videos onto theyre instagram account and on forums like this.

One thing ive noticed is if you buy new from a shop they tell you how to use the valve.

If you buy 2nd hand or online you just muddle things up and usually over twist forcefully and break the valve.

Alot of people didnt know about the velcro under ozones boston valves and would rip those apart cause they didnt know.

I see this same thing aying out with duotones valves and people over rotateing theyre hose or useing the wrong hose not a duotone/old north hose with the silicone grommit then they complain about it leaking but theyre just useing the wrong gear and useing it the wrong way.

A company cant really defend itself against people useing the gear incorrectly. If you buy the equipment brand new it very clearly has instructions on the valve that you need to remove and read before you can use it.
