Are the switchblades non-existent or fake or what? Looks like he already has a heap of bids coming through - possibly dummy bids though since many of the people have no track record.

he's a scammer for sure... he sells heaps of kites on ebay but always has no feedback...looks like he changes his identity everytime.. beware

Might be a cheap copy but half the crud in my house along with many people is some import/copy/same stuff diff label. I think SOME things a great this way. Keeps prices down.

I would love to know how he can send it here for $36. It cost me that much just to catch a train to the gold coast and back from brisbane. mmmmmmmmmmm

Dudes... if you want cheap(er) kites... go buy them from overseas if you get the chance, buy from a dealer, you'll still receive intl. warranty for half the price of what you pay over here...

does it actually work out cheaper though from say the US.

12m RPM in US costs US$1800,
which = AU$2140.

however,
12m RPM in AU costs AU$2100.

Therefore wouldnt it be cheaper for us to buy our kites hear and support the local kite shops rather than handing over our dosh to the seppos.

Well looks like our china man has been removed by ebay itself hopefully no one who bid on any of his fake auctions transferred money to his account.

China man did manage to send me a message requesting the money even know ebay cancelled the auction….

Prices look the same

Thing is I actually bought 2 rev2s while over there...

I didn't have to pay postage as I got them over here on my flight.

Ended up costing me $2300 for 2 kites incl 14% VAT refund from SAF - which actually turns out to be more like 10% after the accountants take their commission. I know rev2 prices are now down due to the octane coming in, but even so that is close to half the price these kites were selling at over here - based on KP prices (total would have been over $4000.)

I wouldn't be suprised if you went into a store there and got a much nicer price than what is advertised on the website, I did not see any kites in the slingshot store for much more than R10,000. But ofcourse 'free' transporting, negotiating (important!) and receiving a VAT refund all require you to have actually stayed in the country so that somewhat decreases the viability.

Ok it really looked to good to be through but hey you never know sometimes prices for products are very different in different parts of the world (i buy my running shoes for 30$ in US while in Europe they cost 150?).

Do not send money to this guy's bank account under any circumstances unless you have the kite in your hands.

Contact PayPal and ask them why this guy can not use their service. Also, ask Paypal about security for future transactions.

If you want to throw away your money choose a reputable charity like Red Cross or the Salvos, at least you'll get a receipt.

I've had huge trouble with ebay in the past just trying to sell something! Save yourself all the worry and head down to your local kite shop. Support local business.

Mate this is the same guy your dealing with DO NOT transfer money it's a scam. Watch what happens when you tell him you will pay via PAYPAL. Guarantee he will advise you of bank wire method only, under E- Bay terms and conditions you are able to break the contract of sale agreement when the seller will not accept his advertised payment method...

Email ebay and tell them about your situation the more people who report this scam the better....

I already did that, he didn't reply at all.

All of these guys selling kites from China and Indonesia are scammers. Don't even THINK about sending money to ANY them. You WILL get scammed. And if you didn't already get approached by the idiots on Alibaba.com you probably will eventually. ALL of them are also scammers. (Remember the story? Alibaba and the 40 thieves...)

Why so much effort and so much risk on the line just to save a few dollars? Support your local kite shops and buy stuff here where you will get genuine products, no scammers to deal with and good after sale service. (and if you do get scammed, at least you know where to find them! :-) )

It's not like the kite shops here are putting massive markups on products like the bookstores or clothing shops do here. We have a good industry here in Oz with good people running good shops. BUY LOCAL!
