-We met this exellent gentleman last year on the water. It wasnt his
great kiting skills that made him striking, but the way he spoke
and the kindness that he showed us all whilst visiting our beautiful
land.
His name is Andy, He's a doctor with the British Navy.
I try not to take things for granted, but it's healthy to get a good
reminder now and then....
All the best
Cheers

G'day Australians (and Duane!)
This time last year was the Lancelin Ocean Classic! I can't belive how different my life is in 12 months! I'm sat inside the wire of a forward operating base for ISAF forces in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. We're guarded by militia and the booming of the artillery has stopped for the first time in a couple of days, 4 dead Taliban have been brought in to my med centre and one local ANA with a gun shot wound to his left shoulder......!
I'm also getting to help out at a local clinic for 'hearts and minds' type medicine for the locals. This is the nice bit of the job at present but the kids hardly ever smile and they have adults faces. Life here is pretty hard for the locals, I only hope it's going to get better from now on....
That aside, I'm well, but missing the sun, sea and wind of WA. Have a sail for me guys, hope to catch up with you soon.
Take care
Andy

Thanks for sharing.
Really helps appreciate what we have!
Good reality dose for those whose main problem is someone new visiting THEIR kiting spot!
