Interesting for anyone heading out further than 2 miles, that would be lots of us!

PS: Yes, this could be in * general * but its NOT!

This was from today's West Australian.

Happy to be wrong, I've previously had correspondance with Fremantle Port Authority, who told me we weren't classified as vessels.

Why would you ride out more than 2 miles on a kiteboard? It must be a hell of a bombie to ride that far out.

Kiters are not classiefed as any class at all in WA, no current rules apply.
But there is safety frameworks being worked on specifically fir kiters as was done for kayaks. No doubt soon after new laws would apply.
Till then if heading far offshore, why wouldnt a person take a epirb and flares for personal safety

Along with cray licences, 2 years ago you'd of thought they were gonna be extinct if you listened to fisheries, this year they've increased the possibility of a decent catch along with an earlier start, it's a beast and we all feed it

Not many! I certainly not. Some of the guys wear a n impact vest but this doesn't comply anyway.
I really don't like to kite kitted out like a commando. I believe I look scary enough with a bucket hat!
