For those that don't know or haven't heard ESPN/ Monster/ DC in combination with Rob Dyrdek Have created this new Skateboarding competition thing called Street League. Basically it involves 3 stops, each stop having 4 sections; Creative section, Line section, Tech section and a Big section. Each competitor has about 10 attempts at each section and are scored immediately after each attempt, single man run style. They get rewarded better for bigger more tech tricks while a fall results in a no score.
It's pretty interesting to see how it all plays out, as some people just sit back and try and land every trick to plant a consistent score while others go big and jump from top to bottom of the score board constantly.
Anyway the whole reason I though I would tell you this is because our own Shane Oneil (nugget) has just won the last stop in the street league (vegas) and scored himself a smooth $150,000!!! He also came second in stop 1 and scored $80,000 (i think) not to bad for a couple of days skateboarding hey.
Shane has just popped up out of nowhere (from melbourne) and surprised everyone in the states this year. He also just came a super close 3rd in the Battle at the berrics game of skate. Which is the hardest game of skate in the world as it is all the top pros playing against each other in a knockout style format. The funniest thing is he only got in (by wildcard) because someone else dropped out.
