Heading up the coast from Melbourne to Sydney for NY's & looking to check out some kitin' spots along the way. Took up the sport last summer and have had limited time out on it, freestyle would be the best discription as l am sure it covers face plants......... go the plant !!!!! Would give some decent waves a go as well.

All comers welcome will accept any recommendations and the occasional piss taking..................

Beers and Cheers

mate im from qld and did a similar trip at the start of the yr.

pretty much anywhere that has good beach access is awesome to kite. merimbular/eden area was one of my particular favourites. beautiful open beaches, golden sands, no noahs...

im heading across sa and wa this summer so will have to be on the lookout for those badboys...
have fun-

Merimbula has Noahs .A guy from here was there last year .The wind dropped and he was circled by a very large shark. He rarely rides more than 100m offshore now and does alot of walking.

I'm doing the same route opposite direction, mate.
From what I've learned, these are the most recommended beaches to kite in (from South up):
- Inverloch
- Shallow inlet
- 90 miles beach / Lakes entrance
- Eden
- Pambula beach rivermouth
- Merimbula / Short point beach
- Batesman Bay (main beach)
- Lake Conjola (mixed opinions)
- Jervis bay / Hyams Beach - DONT MISS THIS !!! My personal favorite
- Wollongong / Shellharbour
- Wanda / Boat harbour / Dolls Point
- Last but not least - Long reef

That's my list so far. I've done some of those and planning to do the rest this xmas. If you have more recommendations, do let me know!
