This time it cost me an epic session at Flat Rock on my drive back from Qld on the weekend, no other pump with me and no other way to get air in the kite, spewing!!!!!

No-one else out, fair sized waves about 1.5M out the back and butter smooth water inside with approx 20-22knots SE blowing. Grey day with some rain squalls strange no-one else was there? No-one out in Byron either, I came through about 3.30pm?

After ruining a waterproof ipod casing, dropping a helmetcam near the backline on a heavy day and coming close to drenching a phone thanks to a leaking aquapack, I am embracing simplicity these days Steve. Electrickery and kiting are not compatible in my books, and that would extend to pumps.

Embrace your Zen Steve, go back to manual pumps.

Not that I'd say no to a cold beer, but I can't really blame you for killing the pump. It wasn't exactly brand new.

Does this counter the argument against electric pumps, with the fact that all pumps die?

Don't know, but looks like some good wind this arv, want to join Cam and I for a downwinder funkyman? I know you said Wednesday but looks like today might suit your quiver better.

Air cond vents in the car coulda worked as well.....<smirk>

Damn, and I just bought an electric pump because I broke two manuals pumps...

Seriously though, you can never have too much backup. I could use one bar for both kites but I always carry my spare bar as a backup. Has helped me through the odd c-loop snap and saved me missing sessions.

Good to know Saffer has always got a spare bar with him.....now i know just who to ask when i snap a line etc...

Here I was thinking he just had the straps tight on his seat harness.

There is more to this pump issue, you see I went to use it and it just did not have any juice so I went to charge it and then noticed that the battery charger charge dial did not move when I plugged it in!!!
Suspicions of trickery arose immediately, since I am an habitual and highly trained conspiracy theorist.

Took the pump battery cover off and sure enough both leads to the pump were not on the terminals, meaning that some bright spark at KP sabotaged the old guys pump.

This is not funny. I immediately blamed KP Brisbane, since I also found snakes and spiders in the van and my bed when I drove their new van up there over the weekend.
However, in recalling my very short time up there I doubt that they had time unless they snuck out during the night and ****ed the pump up!

So I'm now thinking its the Sydney crew, and maybe its time for some more cinammon donuts boys?

They got special cinnammon donuts a few weeks ago because someone kept changing the stance on my caliber from normal duck stance to spasmo toe in at different angles and sill me never noticed until my knees and ankles felt like they would break.

I purchased 4 jam donuts from the patisserie next door, went up to get some coffee and some nice dolls point sand on the way, got the crew at Bar Amalfi to warm up the jam donuts, then put in 3 or 4 teaspoons of sand and a couple of teaspoons of cinnammon, shook it all up, tipped out the excess yummm.

The boys ate the all, only when I questioned them later they commented that they were a bit crunchy!!! LOL's
One even went back for seconds and decided that it was better if he did not close his teeth together, you had to be there to see his demo of how he did that LOLOL's!
