Has anyone come across a set up that can pump up you Kite and your car tyres?

I have tried the rechargable air matress pump and it doesn't get the press up enough, and the portable car pump takes to long as 73 litre per minute is not enough to pump the kite up faster that the hand pump?

Any Ideas??

How hard is it to pump a kite up by hand? What size kite do you fly, a 50m ?
Anyway, if you go to a good boat shop that sell big inflatable dingies they will have hand pumps that are about three times the size of a kite pump. Fill your 50m up in no time. Have look on the net.

What the #&%% is the issue if someone wants to use an electric pump? Why do so many people bitch every time someone puts up a post about this.

Amazing how people forget we are a convenience based society and how many convenience based products they use themselves.

Before you say HTFU, you may want to reconsider posting if you think about the following:

People use One Pump but will bitch about an electric pump when in essence, they are one and the same, an easier and less time consuming method of pumping your kite.

How many people use remotes for their TV? I don't see people bitching about HTFU on that?

What about cars to get to the beach? HTFU and cycle you lazy &*#$ bastards!

What about escalators and elevators? HTFU and take the stairs!

Yeah, so we are convenience based, so what? Kitesurfing is a sport, its exercise on its own so who cares if someone doesn't feel like pumping. Yeah, some people spend money on crap, but at the end of the day its their money they're spending so unless they working for the government, and using government funds, instead of HTFU how about you STFU!

None yet, but I'm planning to get one. I used to have the Naish one a couple of years ago and the convenience of being able to leave your kite to pump itself while you setup your lines was great.

Pumping up the kite is my best warm up before a session, sometimes I would say no if offered an electric pump... same as golfing with a buggy ruins my rhythm..

Get yourself an old lpg bottle and hook it to your car compressor, then turn it on as you leave home ,by the time you get to your kiting spot there should be sufficient pressure in the lpg bottle to inflate your kite.
Just remember to put inline a pressure relief valve and a pressure regulator on the hose ,that way you can get exactly 8psi in the kite.

bro im with you.. what ever gets me out on the water quicker im all for. and what happens when your not sure what size you want.. electric you have no probs pumping up 3 kites.. hand pump... generally speaking cbf :)

as for in answer to your question slingshot do an electric kite pump they are awsome, will pump up about 4 or 5 kites before they need a charge but can be put in teh cigarette plug in your car. they have 2 settings 1 which inflates your kite quickly till it gets to a certain pressure then it switches to a slower inflate but more pressure can put a kite up to 11psi which is great when you fly the best nemi cus i swear they dont work until you get to atleast 10 and i have gone thru a few hand pumps trying to get there. :)

oh and cost is around i think 300 or 400 so up to you :)

Pumps! You guys are all too spoiled. I don`t even use a pump. I blow my kite up like a balloon by mouth .
True, if someone wants to use an electric pump that`s their perogitive.
I remember when moblie phones first came out and I got one people would look and laugh and friends all said I was only showing off. Now it`s strange if you don`t have one.
But,,,, there`s nothing wrong with a bit of banter. All good fun.
Electric pump, nah that`s for sissies. I`m thinking of getting a scuba diving air canister thingy. I`m sure that would work good.

Or you could save yourself some time and simply fill your kite with lpg...
There's no reason why this wouldn't work.
Hmmm...

Go to a whitworths or similar marine and leisure store/website and look for a 12v high volume pump they use to pump up those inflatable boats. There is a hurricane brand one in the latest catalogue for $14.95. I don't know if it will work effectively. Can you pm if you get it and it does work. You can get manual pumps like our kite ones for less than $20 there.
Some one should invent a waterproof foot/ bellows pump that packs flat that you can travel with and/or take on downwinders.
I was given the slingshot electric pump for a present a couple of years ago. At the time I fell into "it's a good warm up manual pump category". Now I use the electric 99% of the time. We do multiple downwinders so can pump up to 4/5 times a day. These pumps are more effective if you get a 240v charger made up. You can run out your lines while your kite is inflating; so I'll give you a race graceful! The downside is I think they would have just increased in price with the low $aus and they are not the most robust pump internally.

Being an old fart I like my slingshot electric pump too,, any fool can work hard..

I don't know if they still sell them in? Any case they are just a rebranded Bravo pump from scopegra. I think MR Kitesurfing sells them on line.

Mine had the firrst stage pack it in fairly soon after I bought it, and after many e-mails and calls to slingshot I gave up. But have recently got it all sorted out by getting parts direct from scopegra in Italy.. They were great! Parts were FREE and I just paid for shipping.

And I still ride big ole C kites but agree if your pumpin up a 7 or 9 why bother.
