A true N and you're pretty much hosed. It comes directly over the headland and there's a huge wind shadow where we would normally launch. On a NE, you can kite out the front if the tide is low enough to launch/land (otherwise you're in the rocks).

I've kited Mon Repos on a N. It's ok, but same deal with the tides.....if it's high, there's nowhere to rig up/launch. I've been to Moore Park Beach for a look and it would be the same. Mon Repos and Moore Park are both murky as though (and loaded full of bull sharks apparently).

The only other place would be Bargara, at the Northern end. There's a Surf Lifesaving station there though and the beach is quite small. Once they put their flags out, there's not a lot of room left

Elliott is perfect on a SE or E.

Hey mate,
Have you got a 4x4? We're most likely heading down to the N shore of the Burrum for a spin this afternoon.......do you know the area at all? You can head into Woodgate, go to the S end of the esplanade and then onto the beach. Drive right down to where the beach comes to a point.....outgoing tide all arvo should be perfect on a N today. Not sure when we'll be down there, but will be sometime this arvo.

Are there always alot of bullsharks up there? I've been out there a couple of times and saw a pretty big one alongside the rock wall on the ocean side. I went out to have another look and stacked. Good times

Yeah, there's bullies around here. Most of them are pretty small (1 to 1.5m) though. A lady was attacked by a ~2m one at Moore Park beach (a little bit further N of Elliott) a little while ago, in waist deep water.

For some reason, they've moved the beach access from the S end of the Esplanade to a little bit further down. You have to turn right off the Esplanade before you get to the end, head out onto the Walkers Point road, then follow the signs left to the beach access.
