I. Am. Stoked.

Two part post...and sorry for the rambling

Well I had a great week this week.
Not being able to get out as much as I would like due to family and work etc, I finally had a good few solid days refining my skills and understanding of the finer details of controlling the power of the kite using the board and varying degrees of foot pressure etc.

It was an epiphany week for me.

After so long I now, and still having a long way to go (such is the beauty of kiteboarding), I now feel comfortable calling myself a kiteboarder.
Although I have been able to ride and transition for a while now, I am now able to kite where I want, as far up wind as I want, deliberatley, not by chance only.
And in the diabolical chop of Pinnaroo!

I just had so many things click for me and my stoke levels are at an all time high.
Because of my boosted confidence I have now started feeling very confident in my abilities and moved onto getting some air going, nothing major, but a few good developments and body slams into the water has made me 'woohoo' in joy many times this week.

It's awesome, I love this sport and the people I meet at the beach and the purpose of this post is to give heart to rookies who may be struggling, to them I say, keep at it guys, keep the hours on the water going and soon it'll just click for you and you'll have an exponential increase in abilities.

The other part of this post is to give thanks to the guy who grabbed my board for me at Pinnaroo on Thursday the 10th of Jan.

Due to my renewed confidence I pushed a bit too hard and became seperated from my board.
Normally I don't have much trouble body dragging back to my board, but on that day I was seperated a fair distance from my board.
Now I would have eventually made it to my board, but the gusty conditions (just as I would get close, a gust would hit and push me downwind just that little bit more) and chop of the day which saw me swallow half the ocean on my tacks, I was looking at another half a dozen tacks at least, and dragging through the patch of stingers which caned my legs and feet a few more times wasn't appealing.

You on the Naish helix style kite came along at the right time, asked if I needed assistance, which I gratefully accepted.
At the time I said I owed you, you saved me a lot of time, stings and saltwater drinks.

So, I'm good for my word, hopefully you read this post; PM me or reply here and I'll fix you up with some beers for your help, it was very much appreciated.

Bump.

And re-reading my post, I meant to say the guy with the Naish SIGMA shaped kite (unless I've got the kite completely wrong); had some green on it and black I think.

Would have sorted something with you on the day, but you were still on the water when I left.

I've lost my board a few times. I've found that if I'm body dragging for long enough, eventually someone will help. Kite surfers (and wind surfers) are generally a good bunch of people.
