what are people intending to use on the day ?

any tips ?

You talking about the Red Bull Air Race in Perth?

If so, I'd recommend a Zivko Edge 540 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zivko_Edge_540) but they may be expensive for just one event. You may also want to give them a lead because it takes them 6 months to build you one for the event and its about 3 times the cost of the standard plane.

Perth cant afford that one now (the planes) but they can now go with the kite variety !

oh hellz yeh i have the 2011 north race board and depending on the wind 7,8,9,10 12 rebel or a 9 vegas :) .. its good to work for a kite store

You might have all the gear and work in a shop, but if your a chump it wont help.

Lol lets all list the kites we have available to use! I bet my list beats yours h20 :)

Nah - in all seriousness - use the biggest kite you feel comfortable with on the day... The speed record just got beaten on a Switchblade (not the Crossbow which is designed for speed) - So it just goes to show technique will trump gear most of the time.
