I've been hitting up exmouth end of August beginning of September and kited my arse off , November has been the strongest winds , I've been going for a few years and have scored most days, great mix of flat and waves with a few secret spots, Tgcp has just opened a kite school up there and would be worth contacting along with turtlehunter , I'm planning a boys trip this year join us for a guiness
I'd be starting to get excited about south westers towards the end August, some quality wave sessions to be had. However for more of a sure thing if possible I'd leave it a month longer, by mid September the good times will be well and truly here.
Hopefully we have early breezes this year like we used to as some of my best sessions ever have been early august. If the wind is late you might only get half a dozen sessions all of august or you could be lucky and get wind almost everyday.
I'm hearing a few camp spots like pilgamurra and Lake side are looking like they'll never be opened again. .
got a few of the boys heading over from the east coast who are freakin that they're not gonna be able to stay at the sites that they've already booked for
don't know doc I havn't had time to go around there to have a look but judjing by the photo's there's a few creeks where there used to be roads and beaches. Funny enough pilgramana is still open for day use but the whole park is closed for camping still. Mind you the way authorities are closing roads everytime it rains we probably don't need windscreen wipers on our cars any more. Your mates should be fine but check with dec over the next week to find out what they are doing. (I hear they might be waiting for the gov to declare the area a natural disaster before doing anything so they don't miss any funding)

whale shark tours usually finish around then but the sharks are usually still around for a bit longer.You will just have to see who is still runnung tours when your here.
I'm hanging for some warm sea breezes and thinking of doing numerous trips there in between mine swings.Dates will be 16 th of august to 21st, 30 th of august to the 4 th of September and 12/09/14 to 18/09/14. im going to fly up there and hire a hatch back and stay at yardie creek.I believe this is the closest to sandy bay.anyone keen on going up on those dates want to share hiring a car? .

Suns out but it's definatly jumper weather, mainly because of that wind (around 20ish). Even had a bit of rain the other day which is odd. Still having said that, its a shed load better than Perth this time of year.
Just cross the fingers that those wind start to swing but its no major stress being a peninsular, just as long as they are strong. Worst case senario there is always Potshot Tavern full of whale shark swiming backpackers,. win win all the same

I see what you mean .The bom is predicting a SW this Thursday .only 12 knots,but good enough for a 17m kite.25 degrees too .Time to get above the 26 th parallel!
Here is something to give some thought, I've been watching the Exmouth forecast like a hawk and so far nothing extraordinary but Shark Bay has been getting heaps more consistent, same deal as well as from what I hear it doesn’t matter which way the wind blows. Check out below.
