Hi guys,

A few of us are trying to plan a trip to Fiji and hoping to get some kiting in.
Winds are predominately E/SE due to trade winds that time of year so wondering if anyone knows of any good spots.

The main problem I see strait away is lack of beach sand on the south/ south east area's on the island, a few guys appear to have kited on plantation island however due to its location on the western side of the island I'm not sure it will pick up the tradies.
Can anyone shed some light on this for us.

Ps. I know someone will probably mention it, we have heard about kite safari and we are really not interested, from what I can see its now overpriced $1295 7 days and from what I'm told is predominately open water down winders, too much coral lol.

Thank you in advance
Mark

If you want nice sandy beaches like we have here, forget it, Fiji is surrounded by coral
Although the capital has a brown sandy beach you can kite from

Some of the islands to the sw of the big island are probly far enough south and away from the mainland and still get the trade winds.

I you use the search function and make sure you select the longest time frame for the results as most of these topics are discussed about this time of the year you have to go back at least one year (not the default 60days)

Here is some light reading for you
