That surf carnival was last weekend!

What do you mean there will be no wind.....look at the forecast :-) it may not be howling but it'll be good with my skimmy to try some unhooked moves.

Clacks for your information I've not been kiting there before, so be a little less rude before finding out facts please, and for your information I'm not a wave rider so it's rare you'll find me anywhere near flagged areas.

I am an extremely considerate kiter and spend a lot of time trying to keep all the beaches I visit or regularly kite at safe.

We forgot to mention our three friendly resident white pointer sharks who express a lot of interest in our kitesurfing. Especially when blowing a jump, they seem to grin.

Hey Lads,
Local Fingal Bay Kiter Here...

Hey Fingal Bay Spit is a great location... the only thing we dont want is tourists coming when our local crew is up there and cutting us off tailgating and hogging the waves... You may come up here on rare ocassion but please at least share the beach... A certain bunch of lads up here about 3 weeks ago did just that!.. We are not saying that you cant kite there, just Share the Spit!

on other news thanks heaps to the lads last weekend... epic session with Rich, Ian and the crew... These guys were great visitors, and Shared the Spit! BBQ next time lads!

Hey thats my 5 cents worth...

Fair comment Revival I was kiting at Fingal over the Christmas Break , on my first day I went and introduced myself to the lifeguards and asked about the local rules regarding kiteboarding, they were extremely helpful and friendly and pointed me in the right direction as to the do's and dont's.

And the locals were also extremely friendly and were keen to stop and have a chat and point out other kiting spots around the area.
Its a great spot to kite and I suggest anyone new going there respect the rules and all will be fine.

Cant wait to get back there.

Hey Revivial,

The problems you have in your area with visitors is the same everywhere, its something we deal with on a daily basis at my local spots.....think yourself lucky you dont.

As a local crew you need to take it upon yourselves to approach visiting kiters to advise them of areas to avoid, things not to do etc whilst on the water. It sounds, from Danza, that you are a friendly lot so this shouldn't be a problem. At the end of the day its as much your responsibility as it is the visitor to approach you, however the buck ultimately lies with the locals to ensure their beaches stay safe and it doesn't get banned.

I'm thinking because you immediately went in there and started to blame me for something last weekend that you didn't bother to approach the person on the day. Take action on the beach not on seabreeze......actions speak louder than words in this case.

I can't believe that you've said "you may come up here on the rare occasion", since when did you own the area and when did you start paying for the right to use it for yourselves and tell people when they can and can't come to kite there? Share the beaches, take responsibility for ensuring your local area is safe in a friendly manner. This is a growing sport and whether you like it or not everywhere is going to get more crowded.

Mate you seriously misunderstand me mate...

did i attack you... no i was just pointing out the fact that the beach is a privelage for all users to enjoy, and we locals here certaintly share the beach, almost any kiter who visits us is leagues ahead of us in progression, however we love to chat and hang out and learn from you, just agreeing with clacks and baz....
i think you need to reassess the fact that this is not a personal attack against u or anyone, just a comment in general... and hey we have only had this problem with 2 sessions in the last three years...
chill out bro (thanks for that lachie)
have fun kiting dude, hope to see u up here, and man chill out yo

Hey Revival, no you didn't attack me personally, but when you write stuff you have to look at it in the perspective of how people will read it. Your response came across that visitors weren't that welcome.

I was probably a bit harsh and sharp tongued in my reply but was annoyed. I wish my local spots had this few incidents or issues over three years!

BTW what guy would chose an avatar like mine.....not sure bro is the right term!

soulfly, on numerous occasions we have had to deal with visiting kiters rigging near the surf club and stuffing around causing problems with normal beach goers, which gets up our nose. rigging up there is ok but local knowledge will tell you to walk it to the spit. there is a wind turbulance near the first big dune and if ya dont know the effects of this there is a world of hurt for all. so if ya di get up here get out to the spit . the wave side is the best for kite surfers ,the bay side is the best for freestylers. but if ya put it down there you hsve a big swim as its offshore. then the clubbies come zoomin around keepin the sharks away.ha. might see you this weekend . so behave ya self.

My dear soul fly,

As you say the buck lies with the locals in regards to keep things safe and sane. As a local the onus falls upon me to say that you specifically are definately not welcome. We do welcome all, but occasionally there are a few rotten apples in the barrel, and you most definately qualify as a rotton apple. To the rest of the sane world you are more than welcome and enjoy your time at Final (Fingal) Bay.
Constant winds,
Baz.
P.S Neville our resident one eyed 4m white pointer loves rotton apples.

my dear baz....a bad apple......how flippin rude are you.

Mate if that's the way you feel, I would be tempted to say to you that you're not welcome anywhere south of said spot, however I'm not and you are always welcome anywhere. This is a friendly spot and I'd never be so rude to another fellow kiter.

I've just been trying to point out that locals shouldn't point the finger at blaming people before they know if it's them or not on seabreeze....that's all.

Hey Revival 2005, sure was a great weekend when we caught up with you and Lachy. Have to admit the christian surf carnival was a hoax We were celebrating Ians 40th and wanted the spit too our selfs, kinda worked as well. We are planning a trip this time next year down south somewhere, destination is secret though. Will give a clue sometime soon so stay tuned. Was a bit of a record in how many sharks we saw, in my 8-9 years kiteboarding, ive never seen so many of the buggers. Still got both my legs, the big one was 3 times the lenght of my board, scarry Like to thank all the guys and girls who came along and to everybody else for not

Hey Kytesrfn did you actually kite when you were there. Word down south is that you spent all your time with Marywhoeeanna and failed to make an appearance on the water.
