i enjoyed my time kiting in Coffs harbour but the sets come through so quickly compaired to other places... the jety was wicked there but you need a straight onshore or it is way to gusty.. the days i checked it out it was a 20knkot day which would drop to calm in seconds then pick back up a min later. yet 100m away was 20 consistanly...

Yeh buddy, I started on my board at fingal spit... its awesome because there arent too many big waves and its almost impossible to get blown out to sea from the spit... unless you actually try lol. Just make sure you dont go much further south than the surf club or you a dodgey on/off wind shadow coz of the northern hill/cliff thing.

I really wana go back there for a sesh sometime

I rode their in the storms around New Years, good but VERY gusty! Just go well north of the lighthouse, well pass the surf club if the wind is from the south.

yep it's a bit of a walk but sweet spot. If you go on the southern side of the spit though, the wind gets a bit fluky everywhere except right in the middle of the beach. Otherwise, it's grand.
