I lost a fin the other day. Does anyone know where I can get fins cheap? I found this place www.fins4sale.com/ They do post internationally but I would prefer an Australian company. I have also noticed a few people with stainless steel fins... anyone know where I can get these from? Prices?

[edit] ENDED UP GETTING THEM FROM PADI AT SURFCONNECT.com www.surfconnect.com/

i had the same trouble about 3 weeks ago, couldn't find anywhere in oz that sold them, then got them from that fins4sale.com place. they came within 7 days, and were pretty good. they are all plastic, so if you end up getting them, be careful putting them on, i ended up threading one of them (i used a drill to screw them in because i'm extremely lazy, i suppose thats the price you pay) but apart from that, they havn't moved. if you find anywhere that sells them in oz, can you let us know. Cheers and great winds, Aaron.

Kitepower stocks a large range of fins and I have just noticed we have been slack and have not put them on the website.
We do have the Underground G10 Epoxy fins up already here
http://www.kitepower.com.au/catalog/product_16632_Underground_Fins_cat_314.html

The other main brand we import and stock are Rainbow Fins, what board did you lose a fin off?

Avoid Aluminium fins, they all corrode at the point where the screw enters the fin, after a few months you can never get them off, real hassle if you are travelling and don't want to destroy your board bag.

All the good fins are made from G10 Epoxy, plastic fins tend to strip the threads easily, or simply break easily.

I just hacked at my chopping board from the kitchen...
They need a little more sanding to get a nice smooth finish, but hey these cost bugger all to make! and the old ones on my other board still work a treat! www.seabreeze.com.au/gallery/gallery.asp?imageid=4249

Yeah totally!
Didn't take long to make at all... just jig-sawed the profiles out, then used the angle grinder with the sanding bit to round the edges, then a quick sand by hand and hey presto you have your own personal, BBQ preperation, AZTEC killing tool kiteboarding machine!
