That was the headline of a story in today's Sunday Mail
"A surfer was lucky to escape unhurt after an extreme stunt almost ended in tragedy on the Sunshine coast yesterday. He was riding a board towed by a parachute at Sunrise Beach when a gust of wind carried him more than 100m across a beachfront park and into powerlines. The lines fell on a passing car, trapping the woman driver inside for half an hour until power could be cut"
WTF? Wonder if they were talkin about a kiteboarder?
just spoke to a mate who lives opp this beach and he said it was a paraglider not a kitesurfer. he thinks hes ok but it did shutdown power for several hours.
On the news they said it was a kitesurfer. Had footage as well and looked like a kite to me. Apparently released just before he hit the power lines. I wonder why he didnt release 100 metres earlier?
