I ve got some litewave big daddies, but no screws. I emailed the company and they told me I need 1/4 -20 x 5/8 or 3/4 screws.

I cant find any imperial screws in bunnings or that other hardware place and no one there knows what the -20 means. Is it -20 the thread?

Anyway, 1/4 is 6mm and 5/8 is 15.8mm

Does this mean i need a 6 gauge by 15.8mm long?

take your board into your local marine shop .[such as whitworths or bias]
you want your board to have high grade stainless hardware so bunnings etc just don`t cut it.
cheers

I think you may be looking in the wrong section at Bunnings, your looking at pointy wood screws when you should be looking at small bolts.. They have a dedicated section with stainless steel bolts in little bubble packs and 1/4 inch is VERY common, the 20 is screw pitch I imagine (20 threads per inch) But I think that is all you'll find there anyways, there is a finer pitch too.. The boat shop will help you too, sometimes they are cheaper but the range can be less depending on where you go...

I think marine grade stainless steel is referred to as 316 grade or something very similar. This is what you will need to look for in Bunnings / local hardware store otherwise they will rust very quickly.

Also be very careful not to cross thread. If it does not fit don't force it!

Go and see Shane at Binks, if they don't have them they can order them or I got some 5mm x 16mm 316 stainless from Fasteners Australia at Williams St Mile End.
They do small order stuff unlike the other screw companys around Adelaide
