Who is laurie to provide a venue for discussion, free of abuse and advertising so that you can improve and enhance the enjoyment of your sport?

To follow up on the removal of the "Fiji" topic .. whilst it was an entertaining read, it did get plain ugly at times and a number of the participants in the threads wrote to me regretting the things they said (in the heat of the moment) and were embarressed and regretful. Having to weigh up their pain -vs- someone elses pleasure, didn't take much calculation for me.

There are plenty of other valid angles as to why the topic should have stayed/not stayed, but in the end, I'm the bunny to has to make the right/wrong call to leave it/delete it, so I made a choice. Please accept my apologies if this offended/upset you.

Same with this new Best kite. Is it advertising or is it a real change in the industry - only time will tell. There were revolutions in windsurfing where they went from opaque pink sails to clear monofilm...I don't know myself if it's a marketing ploy or something real, but is great to see folks opinions (even though no-one has seen it)

Meanwhile, I will keep trying my best to make this a great place to visit, and I can guarantee that more mistakes will be made, so please brace yourself for them!

Embarrased to say, I check this forum daily, like a bad soapy, I feel compelled to click on and see whats happening. Its strangely addictive to see fellow kite-gimps out there all pompously spouting their huge opinions behind the mask of anonimity. Entertaining, enflaming sometimes contoversial, all worth a look during my daily search for green arrows.

Keep up the good work Laurie, keep the unconstructive, negative and personal comments out of it. Keep it running the way you see fit, your limited and reasonable cencorship is what keeps the forum worth visiting, there's enough trashy crap out there for the half-wits, KBM, Jerry Springer etc etc

How can anyone bitch about this great FREE service? Guys, If you don't like it you don't have to log on.

Congrats on your hard work. It has to be a thankless job at times, with the criticism etc.

Theres only two things that really get up my nose in this sport.
1 is water .
The other is the brain dead turkeys who come onto the site then bitch about it .
It doesnt take more than a few grams of grey matter to realise that Lauries censorship line is heavily weighted in the readers favour. He has every right to delete every reference to anything which may not be positive from his sponsors point of view. By allowing discussion of stuff like the new revolution in chrome kites - which we readers are obviously super keen to see - he is seriously compromising his own commercial interests.
And if you dont like him (occassionally) deleting stuff to keep it friendly then just go elsewhere and wallow in the style that suits you better.
Im sure Laurie would be happy to refund your annual subsciption - in full.

Gotta admit that I do wonder too at times about the fanatic posters who rant & rave about brand X vs brand Y & the 'this-is-the-ONLY-style' but at least thats their own problem. It still makes for very entertaining reading.

BUT IS HE GONNA FIX THIS BLOODY CLOCK...

X's are way better Y's or than anything else on the market - esp our (oops I mean) their new model.
Trust me - the X06 will have you fully powered from 3kts thru to 37kts. esp the orange ones.
It also blows itself up and comes with an optional wheelie bag which, after it has self deflated & packed itself up, can be pedaled home - so no more annoying 'over .05' convictions.
