Hi, i've just upgraded to an 09 fuel after riding a 06 Rhino (5 line). Anyway, today I had it out for the first time and used the flagging line (on the chicken loop, also has an oh **** loop attached) to clip onto as the safety...thing is that when i let it go the bar slides half way to the kite. Its still able to be relaunched but it seems to me like a tangle waiting to happen, and its a lot of line to pull in.

I was wondering if the flagging line should have a stopper attached to it, to prevent the bar traveling too far up the line? This is how old school 4 lines used to work (like my old 02 rhino). Anyway, would be interested to know how people have them set up...

Thanks,

I hook to the chicken loop. I just make sure when I unhook I have the stopper all the way up. Some people have had issues with this as they accidentally release the chicken loop and bye bye kite. Also doesn't kill the power.

I have got a loop attached to the flagging line, so I can clip to both this loop and the chicken loop. If I accidentally release the QR then the kite will flag and not fly away (has happened once on an '07 I think).

You can add a stopper ball (slingy have them) to the flagging line - just make sure it is far enough up to flag the kite and kill the power - test in light winds.

See ya,
James

cool, thanks for the advice. I had a go riding it suicide today which was ok, just that the weight of the leash makes the chicken loop hang down which I found tricky to hook back in to. Do you have the leash clipped right on to the end of the chicken loop, or up further (directly onto the center lines for example...below the bar of coarse..)

Thanks again.

str8 to centre line for sure, i find the hook gets in the way when you clip onto CL AND if u accidently release you lose ya kite where as on centre line it doesnt happen

ps what crazy leash u got thats that heavy it can weigh down a CL and make it hard to hook in?

Its a north leash, off my old rhino. The clip is pretty heavy, and the slingshot chicken loop is pretty floppy. Sometimes it gets in the way of the spreader bar hook as well. I'm almost tempted to make one actually - it would be cool if you could ride it suicide but have a safety that would release it on to a flagging line...
