Just wondering from peoples experience what they think the wind ranges are for these kites

The 11m has a wind range on the website, but not the 14m or 8m.

I have used the 14m in 10 knots happily jumping etc, and used it in 24 knots, with 28 knot gusts (not overly comfortable).

Just wondering what the bottom end of the 8m is for 80kg rider as id love to just get the 8m as well as the 14, but am not sure if there is adequate overlap between these.

People say that the Xbow 9m is good in 16/18 knots up, so if the 8m sonic is similar then im sorted

Thanks for any info

Huge overlap between the 8 and the 14

for me

14m 12knots to 25knots
8m 17knots to 35knots.

on a 132*40 board, fast ass board though, comparable to a 142 flx in bottom end.

Hmm, Ive just have a 8m Sonic, which is my first kite, and was looking to get either the 11m or 14m as well.

I like to have 20kts when on the 8m, but can get going in 15kts. I'm looking for something good for the days between about 14-20kts. Im not too fussed about days much less than 15kts, go for a surf or kayak instead.

I weigh 70kgs, and have been wanting to add the 11m to my quiver, but judging by what carbine said, maybe am better of with the 14. I dont mind trading off a bit of bottom end for more optimal performance and comfort in 18-20kts though.

Decisions, decisions, or I could make it easy for myself and get all three

I chose the 14 cause my 17m and 12m needed replacing and the 14 did the job of both, with a smaller kite compensating for the slight loss of upper wind range.

The 14 is incredible in 15-18 knots, and i really start enjoying it from 12 up and i weigh 80kg, on a 38x136. I think the 11 is better from 18 knots to 25 knots, but i dont want 3 kites and needed the bottom end of the 14 for the conditions i kite in.

Looks like from comments above, ill get away with the 8 and 14 happily.

Cheers
