umm yes, hello all. i am after a new pair of gloves because my old pair have seen way to many insane handlepasses in their day and have diminished beacuse of over use. i was thinking of maybe getting a pair with open fingers so that it shall alow more water flow so that i can do my fully powered handle passes no worries at all. but i fear that this will give me blisters on my fingers as i have very sensitive and fragile hands. i was wondering what your thoughts are on the topic of open or closed finger gloves?? pros? cons?

full fingered gloves tend to get a beating...but i recon half fingered would cause more blistering simply because of the movement in that critical joint area.

I have full fingered gloves and normally replace them every season ...due to adverse wear.

I hear you tonewolf that wearing is a bitch. For this reason I wear dishwashing gloves, not that stylish but cheap and replacable. Plus the rubber gives me the extra grip i=I need.

Ahh yes congo. it appears u suffer the same fate as i. i also cannot decide on open or closed finger gloves. the reason i like the open finger is simply because i just loooooooove the feeling of the wet water running between my fingers. its really the best thing about open finger gloves that i can think of. and my docter has some really good cream to put on ur supple fingers to stop them from gettin sore.

Closed for total protection, otherwise you get calluses on the fingers.

I have found the Neil Pryde full finger gloves tend to work best since they are not too thick so you foget your wearing them, but they save your fingers when you do stuipd things with lines in surf or on flat water. I get about one to two seasons out of one pair and I will kite 4 to 5 times a week .

Why you should Wear Gloves
Was at Woodies one day a few years ago, when I got a line wrapped arround a thumb when the kite powered up (was wearing the said gloves) and it hurt that much I thought the thumb was actually cut off .

When the line released, I thought **** better look for that thumb . But thanks to the gloves it was still attached, since the glove material provided something for the line to slip off. Bare skin and I would be minus a thumb. Took six wooks for the thumb to heal.

its a serious problem, it would be a good idea to wear latex underneath so you dont get wrinkly figures either.

If you don't have callous, your not trying. Forget the gloves unless you need to hide your finger prints
