Looking to purchase a GPS unit and wondering if anyone has had any experience with a Navi GT-31...?

I run a GPS windsurfing website, verify loads of tracks, and the NAVI GT-31 is the best by a country mile. Or a nautical mile I guess

Get one, you won't be disappointed.

Hi Aaron, might have been better to post in Windsurfing, GPS Speedsailing

The Navi is the best so just grap one of those, it's what most of us use, then ask Q's on the dark side if you need help.

Make sure you get a waterproof bag, don't trust any GPS without one, this is the one I use www.whitworths.com.au/ works fine

Cheers Bob.

Edit, Bloody hell Nebs do you use more than two fingers to type

Garmins suffer from a number of issues which make them unsuitable for anything other than casual use... one of them is that they don't store trackpoints with a decent resolution so you get a 'grid effect' on your points, another is that they don't store nearly as much other information as the NAVI (number of satellites visible, doppler speed etc), most Garmins only store at 2 second intervals instead of 1 second, etc etc.

Get a NAVI. Trust me.

Thanks for the advise - I think I will look into the Navi and a water proof bag!

SHQ in Sandringham would be the closest:
www.shq.com.au/

Otherwise these guys do mail order:
www.surfconnect.com/sc/index.htm
www.boardcrazy.com.au/

When you get it, it's important to update the firmware to the latest:
mtbest.net/setting-up-navi-GT31.htm

And don't forget to pop into the GPS and Speed sailing section of seabreeze, we're always happy to help you get your head around it
