Jeez that was quick .The weather lurker that defends anything questionable from "official " weather forecasters was quick off the mark with a red thumb. All of the long range modelling for 2 weeks out that I have checked (BTW 2 weeks is extremely dubious ) does NOT show the remnants of of TC (rain depression ) smashing into Brisbane around Australia Day .I reaffirm that despite the disclaimers, Garry;s long range forecast is rediculous and uncalled for at this stage.
( Anything is possible with a strong La nina and a warm pool of water off Brisvegas and a TC likely way out in the coral sea ,but I maintain at this stage this is a real long shot and not really newsworthy despite the QLD floods ,and not what the locals need , and is a quite sensationalist)

I seem to recall 6-8 months ago that a well known and respected long range weather forcaster predicted a hot dry summer for 2010 - 2011 on the east coast of OZ!!!
