Hi guys

I have come over from bonnie Scotland for some sunshine and serious skiting.
I will be here for a year or so will get in heaps.

I am looking to start riding unhooked to prepare for the handle pass.

Does anyone have some advice on preparation for and handle passing?

Cheers

good timing... summer's over ! well at least our winter is warmer than your summer !

Before un-hooking, de-power the kite so your tips dont flare and stall the kite when you release from the chicken loop... A step before this is, do you ride with a fixed trim loop ? if so de-power the kite and hook into the fixed trim loop and get out of the chicken loop. This will make the hole preperation a little easyer untill your get it dialed...

If your not use to riding unhooked then get that dialed in first then start with some surface passes from there...

cant offer any advice from here on in as I'm at the surface pass stage my self...

however the "BOYZ" can help you;

damo,
Ryland,
Adam,
Dale,
Dan,
Simon...

these guys lay down some of the BEST pass's I've ever seen in WA and OZ seeing as they ROCKED at the national's...

once you have got used to riding unhooked like hunglong advised then do a few raileys, forward and back rolls unhooked. this will get you used to giving yourself some slack on the lines thats when you want to pass, or if you want to do pull ups then start doing chin ups at home or set up a bar hanging from a tree or something and practise on that. and basically after all that just go for it.

Cheers guys!

All I need now is a bit of wind and I am sorted.
The time to go for the pass: when there is slack in the lines.
Would it be a good idea to try passing after popping off a wave like wake boarding?
If so, when is the time to do it on flat water?

Thanks for the responses!
You guys are blessed with some great beaches and stonkin wind.
