Been out a few times a year over the last 5 years & still using old gear, mainly in chop (JB), sometimes surf.
Currently using Flexifoil Fusion "C" kites (2006 I think) 15m (hate it), 12m (OK), 9m (love it), & Underground FLX 132 2005 I think?? & old surfboad with extra glass and chopped down.
Question is what do I update with? fairly broad question.
Never flown current shape kites, should really demo a few brands...
Mainly get out in and around Jervis Bay, wind gets pretty strong down there and I'm also wondering about kite sizes for me, I'm 6'3" 92 kg.
Thanks for any advice!

What type of kiting will you mainly be doing and what is your predicted kind of goals in the next year or so. This will help people advise. Do you have a budget?

Good point eppo, thanks for the feedback
I am aiming for surf, reality is more like third of the time in surf, two thirds in chop/swell in Jervis Bay NSW, normally with strong NE/southerly/SW.
My flatwater kiting is pretty relaxed, lots of mowing the lawn, a few backrolls, transitions and the odd boost off the chop, surfing pretty relaxed also, no competition, just fun!
Keen to buy kites with similar characteristics to my current 9m just with better wind range and better depower for waves, not keen on super complex systems.
As for goals, out and progress as much as possible.
Budget - not really, although everyone likes a bargain, keen for new, happy with 2nd hand if recent.
Cheers

Any of the new hybrid C's are great, you can't go wrong. that would be most familiar to you if you are used to C's.
Naish Park
Ozone C4
Slingshot RPM
Cab Drifter
The list goes on.
You would probably get bored with a dedicated wave or bow kite.

Similar position to you, just getting back into it after a few years off. I just cruise around as per your good self. Upgraded to a 2013 slingshot rally 8m & shinn dundee board. Loving both. Used to ride a 2007 Rev 9m and a Nobile 666.

Hallux,
I was in the same positon as you in July. I ended up buying a 12m C4. I love the feel of the kite and i really rate it. I have riden it in the surf on a surfboard and in flat water wearing boots. I think it is a good all rounder.
I would also like to point out I don't ride for a shop, i just like the kites! Maybe just go with a 10.
Good luck.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, breakzmaker, cutch & James01.
Been doing a little research and think the new C4 could be the kite for me, must get a demo.
Cheers again & thanks for taking the time to reply!

Yes that would be a great choice. Although the bandit 6 you might want to consider if heading for surf or even a wainmen. But yeh it does sound like the C4 would be a great crossover start.
