So I bought the new Black Go Pro Hero 3, and when I connected it to my computer to do the update for the first time before using it, my computer tells me I have to format the SD card, however when I click to format it, it won't. So I'm completely stumped and have no idea where I am going wrong... any tips or hints?

go to "settings" on the camera, off the computer.. and format it there. It is under the 'rubbish bin" .. hope it helps.

My computer tell me that everytime I insert the mini-SD card into the reader to transfer photos onto the hard drive, I just ignore it.

But I followed someone's advice and reformatted the card with the camera.. let's see if it works.

Just got a Silver, was having playback issues on both PCs thought it was a dud camera but after digging around found that it is related to older PCs and their resources to play the HD files.

Easy work around is to download VLC Media Player which is free and uses less resources. All HD formats work fine now...

I am also using the iPad GoPro app that allows for much easier access to settings but is also great for previewing camera view when setting up mounts etc.
