hello fellow kity's,

i am in a terrible state of bother, here is my problem...

I got into the course i have been wanting to do for years (good news)

I've got to move from newcastle to albury wodonga west victoria (bad news) that's right no seabreezes there.

I have to move in less then 2 months so unfortunately i am going to have to give up kiteboarding right in my peak of progression. Its a shame because the next few months will be NE non stop. i want to buy new gear coz i only have one kite - slingy 10m 02 and a board the board is fine but the kite is only good for 15-20 so i am ruled out of the light and heavy winds, this is restricting me to a perfect wind speed. But 50 days doesnt seem worth it for getting new gear what should i do? any suggestions or offers to borrow gear would be much appreciated.

I used to live in Wodonga and can never seen anybody kiting on the Weir. The Hume Weir is about a 10 times the size of Sydney Harbour so there is plenty of area to try and kite. The Weir is a 10 min drive from Wodonga.

I'm going back in Feb and will be fairly keen to try it out although
Albury / Wodonga is a fair way inland and surrounded by hills so you would find the wind really gusty.

Hey Fatty,

I grew up as a yachty on the Hume weir and spent a lot of time bobbing around (lots of light wind), however if you can find the energy to drag you're arse out of bed early in the morning you get this really wierd inland seabreeze anytime it's going to be a hot day. From memory i think it was about 10-15 knots and very consistent from the south east every time. By early I mean like from 6 or 7ish and drops out by 10 or 11. Best spot would probably be somewhere near the bridge or heaps further south from one of the caravan parks.

Cheers and goodluck
(Getting you're arse out of bed I mean)

Being an Albury boy myself (not my fault, blame the parents)and being in touch with my brother quite often, he's always going on about how windy it is and that I should be over there kiting (not that he kites), and if I was you I'd take my gear cause in the summer months you get these hot easterly/northerly/westerly somethingorother thermal winds caused by all the farming land around the area that it just blows like F^&k.
Take some time, case the joint out and you may be in for a pleasant surprise.

P:S watch out for submerged trees.
