I am going on a holiday to the Gold Coast on Saturday and was hoping someone could tell me if the winds up this time of year over there, and if so what size kite to take.

Unclechops your a nob!

Paul F - take a 12m you get 15-25kn NE mostly round this time of year.

You can kite in the surf where there is no Seaplanes, jetskiis or boats, and 1000+km runs.......... or you can kite the flat water where you will find a few boats etc,

If you use your head and explore 30 mins North of the Coast by boat or 30 mins South of the Gold Coast by car you'll get beautiful empty and near empty beaches, waves or flatwater. Perfect for kiting.
Enjoy

yeh take your 12 so as soon as you get to the coast you can go to the nearest kite shop and give them all your holiday money and ask for a bigger kite
having a 12 just means you too can stand on shore and watch with the 10.9 ,8 7 6 owners
and pslyor i say you are a nob if you are as hard as you seem to think you are you would move to where it gets above 15 knts

Unclechops your are a ****er!!!!

If you need to dodge planes and boats all the time in the broadwater you need to learn to keep upwind or learn to control your kite. The gold coast could do with less ****ers like u anyway.

may be it means i am a briso and i sux u **** wit , you must own a14 if you can stay up wind or be a 50 kg girl .
here in china kiters have respect for each other no matter what level you are at but it seems on the gold coast australia unless you are a pro you are not welcome . what a sweet place . sounds like a great place to visit with a gun

hey unclechops,

come down to the goldie this sunday for the downwinder. You might change your mind about the goldie. We are a lovely bunch of square, round, fat and skinny kiters. Few more fater than skinny (paulio) hehahe.
Downwinder will be fun and everyone gets together for beers etc.. afterwards cos thats important.

HAHA
For those living or riding on the goldie we all know how sweet it is! end of story...........All the guys i have spoken to over the years have all been cool no matter if they are landing passes or still learning to stay upwind. Attitude is everything. You are more than likely one of those guys who just makes excuses for poor riding...e.g the wind was too light or my kite was too small....

Nan is off limit, because she is saving herself for her next man. But did say that the 'Greek' way was still O.K
