Wellington Point in Brisbane/ Redland Bay is perfect in all wind directions, has shallow, flat, calm water and on the perfect tide, you can kite all day. Just ask the local crew when u get there about water depth and they will point some things out for you

Be careful of the Council for you will be fined if you set your kites or any gear up above the "high tide water mark" - therefore, stick to the sandy areas for setting up.
Brighton on the North side is fairly choppy, but is still a great place to kite if you want to venture out to slightly more deep water and some chop. Excellent for boosting, but not too much area for setting up at Brighton - No fines or restrictions here.
Wello by far is my fav. spot because of the shallow smooth water, but if you are looking out for some small waves or chop, head up to brighton/ the pool for a change... Both are great spots, and I am sure there are heaps more spots other people love!
All the best, and hope for wind! It's gone lately...
