Hey Waldo,

North Queensland is the place to be for wind at that time, anywhere north of Mackay.

The great thing about north queensland is it is shark free! The crocodiles ate them all!!!!

Happy Kiting

Brasil would be a safe bet for that time of year.

No the csiro guys were bitten by snakes before they got to release the piranha

Hey Waldo,

Don't let these guys put you off, they are just having a joke with you. You are more likely to be hurt through a kite accident than by a shark or croc! Or by having a car accident on the way to the beach. Just don't ignore people when they say "don't swim there"

2 weeks is not very long to have a holiday in Australia. By the time you fly from Finland to Aus, and then adjust to the time difference, you might get a week of decent holiday without having the urge to fall asleep in the middle of the afternoon. Also, factor in that Australia is a BIG country, distance from Perth to Melbourne is the same as from London to Moscow, so getting to the good kite spots in North Queensland is going to eat your time.

Its a shame you can't go in October/November, thats when the wind starts to crank back up in WA.

Hey Waldo, you can look at average monthly winds around Australia here -
www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/wind/selection_map.shtml

I'd suggest North Queensland, fly to Cairns. Lookout for the jellyfish too. And the drop bears.

With a bit of luck I'll get to Giant Man Eating Lizard Island in August.

yes i know its BIG place.. :) and if i would have my way i would be there 6 months.. but no.. :( only get two weeks off from works so.. im not fan those 1-2 week trips, more like those month trips other option is to have two holidays.. but then can say goodbye to Oz.. F
irst go to new york/new jersey with gorlfriend (and try to kite if wind.. ) and after that fly to Japan with my friend.. and if any wind kite too..
