So, my miserable weekend of kite repairs continue.

When I pumped the kite back up, there was a twist in the leading edge - it all filled, but one side was a little soft for the last metre, then when I blew the deflate half the kite stayed up.

I tried to massage it around and untwist it, but the frigging thing popped as it released, so now I have a bladder to repair. I am truly learning the finer points of bladder repair this weekend.

I probably need to put in a 10-15cm square patch - I think this technique might be the go:

but where do I get the scrap bladder to patch it with?

Your local kite shop...... and if your friendly assistant charges you for it, find another local kite shop

Go to a pool shop/bunnings and get a vinyl repair adhesive kit. It comes with a a roll of patches. All for $6.50 :)

I have a few spare strut bladders from a 8m C kite you can have.
I live near Scarborough so I can meet you down there one day!

Thanks for the offer - that reminded me to update my location - unfortunately I live in North Sydney - the WA must be a default setting on Seabreeze.

I wish I was getting over to WA, looks like you can't walk around for all the green arrows.

Tons of free bladder material, just ask. Better still bring the bladder in and watch me do some magic on it with some tear aid.
Then I will show you how to put it back in and guarantee you get no twists.
It could all be free too iof you don't need or watn some tear aid.

I might just take you up on that good sir - you were the local kite store I was going to be calling tomorrow to see if I could get some bladder.

Is there any time of day that is quieter to make it easier to get 20 minutes to play with it?
