Hey Guys,

Does anybody know what Hamelin Bay is like during September for kiting, are there waves nearby etc.

Cheers

I was there for leavers in december. And there was no wind. Well at least not in the bay. I never went beyond the bay, but it is fairly protected.
Being near Margaret River, there will be waves everyone, and chatting to local surfers there are quite a few good breaks around.
The only day there was wind it was 30+knots, and bucketing with rain.

If you have a 4wd I suspect Boranup would be quite good.

it can be particulary windy, foul Bay which is the next bay south can pick up very strong winds, there are numerious shore breaks going up the beach north.
a 4WD is the go, the beach is about 15-20 mins driving if the water is not too high up, there are two accesses but getting back up the north one is a challenge last time i was there. check bouy weather it has a marker bouy right out the front of there it predicts 7 days out

have a good time

Hamelin Bay is really nice.. I have been there twice and you can kite there. It's actually a beautiful spot. Beach a couple of nice kickers. But not really a wave. You have to go out to the reef, which is awesome.
However, there are a couple of good spots down there. Prevelly boat ramp, Yallingup etc. But watch out the currents down there..

be safe and enjoy your trip.
