In recent tragic circumstances a fellow kitesurfer,Damien McKay lost his life enjoying the sport we all love.
As such a trust account to help his young family - wife Leah and two children, Balin aged 3, and Jana aged 1 has been set up
Melville kiters thought it might be a nice gesture to collect a few quid from the Perth Kite Community and send it over to the trust fund.
As such we have come up with
"Have a Beer for Damo"
The idea is when you go to the bar for a beer you buy damo one too, putting the money in the collection tins.
We're going to put on a couple of kiting DVD's as well, as yet to be announced.....if you got any good ones bring them along...
Where Legends, Hislop Road, Attadale
When 22nd December 2005 Thursday
Time 7pm onwards
If you are unable to make the event but still wish to contribute to the trust fund cheques need to be made out to Leah McKay Trust Fund and sent on to her solicitor at
c/o Sharon Testa

Thanks for your help hope you can make it

Count me in for a 100. Hey poor relo can i give it to you to pass on. Woolamai is a beautiful beach with cranking waves and I have no doubt that Damo went down doing what he loved.
Aloha and support to his family.

Does this trust fund have a bsb and account number? Or anyone who I could send to who would pass it on? I would like to send some Aussie dollars from my savings through the net as I live in Africa and have limited access to AUD here. PM me.

Gasman I think you might have the wrong handle. Damo is Damien Gough from Perth. Does anyone have Damien McKay's real handle?

it's so good to see the support of the kiting community it's all been a huge shock to dazz, pot and i we still wait for the phone call from damo telling us it's all time. we were only a small group of 4 kiters on the island but have now been tragicaly reduced to three. we came in from another fun sesh on saterday pot put his bar on the sand and yelled out "cheers damo" we will always be thinking of you mate i dont think ill meet anyone else like you allways up for an adventure even if it ment launching our kites in the cow paddock and running down the accross the caddle grid and into the water ha ha thank you to every one and for your support towards leah and the kids

Kite forum have also put an appeal out on their website, appears here
http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2322736
They suggest setting up a paypal account to make the donating of funds easier. could someone who knows the family suggest this to the Solicitor.
Guys over east, might be an idea to pick a venue closest to where the main kite beach is. Check with the lanlord that its ok, get some dvd's together and have a rockin social night out.
send details to laurie i'm sure he would promote it for you too.
