Hey North Australian kiters i am heading to Port Douglas for 2 weeks in late July and will be spending a few days on dunk Island (Thanks to the raffle i won courtesy of the Port Douglas Footy club last time i was here. Keeping my fingers crossed for some good winds and will try to adventure along the coast up to knobbies. Any advice on kiting Dunk? Or should I just get pissed and enjoy the view.

Have you checked out the voyages website? Theres a great little spit off Dunk which makes for some fun kiting. If your super confident with your kiting you can even get behind the spit and super smooth flatwater. If something screws up then your screwed though. I had a few goes out there, and all the water sports guys were cool with it. Just give them a heads up and you'll be sweet. I was only using my 12 over there, could've used the 18 but had to spend a bit of time with my girlfriend.

PS. Check out the MASSIVE fish underneath the jetty. It's insane. You'll have a blast.

PPS. That circuit walk is pretty long too. It looks so much smaller on the map. I was screwed by the time we finished it.
