Hey guys,

I have taken up the hobby of shaping my own boards. Saves me a bit of money and its a good feeling riding something that u have made yourself. I am thinking of getting my old 6' surfboard and putting 2 extra coats of glass on the bottom and one on the top in the aim of making it a high speed board with little flex on the waves. The problem I face is that it will be 5kgs heavier. Is this a good idea or am i being dumb?

Read what Mauricio and Elliott have to say about heavier boards in that Kitermag.com electronic magazine.

I reckon if guys who really have been kiting since day 1 like and use them then their opinion counts for something.
