Help! I am on a family holiday in coral bay and my mate told me not to bother bringing my kite up. Got here yesterday, siting on the beach today and there are 4 guys out on 10s in butter. Doh!

I know it's a long shot but does anyone know anyone coming up to exmouth or coral bay in the next couple of days who wouldn't mind bringing up some excess baggage? My kit fits in one board bag. I am willing to pay any excess baggage and extra beers for inconvenience.

I can get it dropped anywhere in perth, and can pick it up coz I have a car

Thought id give a quick review of kitesurfing in coral bay... from someone who never got to do it.

rule one, always take your kite. I was there off season (late may) and could have got in 3 or 4 sessions on my 11m in 15 knots. not epic wind but great flat water. If you are going to coral bay as a great kite destination, your probably wasting your time, much better spots around. If you are going on a family holiday, take your kite.

The spot where i saw the locals kite was the shark nursery

-23° 8' 19.37", +113° 46' 19.74"

there was a little spit there to launch and land off. was handeling a SSE, could probably handle to NW

The other place that looked good was near the boat ramp
-23° 8' 19.37", +113° 46' 19.74"

handle less south and more north

both spots are pretty tight... small beach. make sure you know how to launch and land in tight areas.

both spots are about a 15-20 min walk from the main bit of town

the other place you could kite is mauds landing, at the end of robinsons rd. open beach, handle more north.

cant kite in the main bay.

Interesting the locals were at the shark nursery, when I was up there I was specifically asked not to kite there by the locals and the DEC guy in the little info booth.

^^ They must have thought you look like a trouble maker
As far as I know skelley bay (shark nursery) is the main spot unless they maybe stay out of there during the breeding season. Or maybe it was the goats

Breeding season rings a bell, September?

Me, a trouble maker, not likely, the neighbours at Yardie Creek C'van Park were grey nomads and they were more rowdy than I was.
