Hi everybody,
had the misfortune of putting a big nasty tear in my kite yesterday which is crap. the tear is all the way from the leading edge to the trailing edge along the second strut.
Heres the thing, would you guys recommend fixing it. The tear happened when i crashed the kite into the ocean, no freaky twists or gusts, just a standard drop your kite scenario.
I cant understand why the tear happened other than the kite may be buggered. Its an airush 02/03 and appears to be in reasonable condition and has been well looked after.
Any thoughts from you crew? Why has it happened, would you fix it, who would you recommend.

Take it to Neil Taylor at Hold the Line kites in Wembley, should not cost much, those big rips always look worse than they are.
The split can develop from a small 1cm long tear that may have been there and not noticed by you?
The kite may have some wind flap damage?
Many kites are weak at the seams along the back of the struts, because they are stitched twice?
There are lots of reasons, including the crash itself may have been just hard enough to split the fabric, once it tears it can go a long way if it is windy.
Neil is in the phone book.
