Long time lurker......

Not a big fan of long holidays so just wondering how long is too long you think?

New Zealand is my least favourite place. Full or sheep and weirdos with long hair and funny clothing.

I mean sometimes a short vacation can recharge the batteries however surely your loved ones miss you at home..

Bruce my Kelpie always tags along. Just sayin.

Been overseas 2 years now....definitely too long, makes you appreciate Oz though.
In the first year I moved around a lot so it felt shorter...2 months in a city is too long, 6 weeks in a small town is too long, 4 weeks on a small island is too long.
Went to Sumbawa for 10 nights once, that was just about right, but you need an extra day or night in Kuta to get there.

If you're camping up/down the coast, you could get skunked for wind if you away less than 3 days so better to book out a week...well that's my thoughts. Prolly depends how long it was since your last holiday too since you will have more of the itch to kite!

"Life expectancy has hit a new high, with typical newborn girls now expected to live to 84.5 and boys to 80.4, up from 83.3 and 78.5 a decade ago."

Longest holiday I've been on is 7 weeks.. re adapting to normal life (adult responsibilities, work etc) too me atleast a month. I theorise that after that holiday duration that it becomes exponentially harder to re adapt to normal life.

Me n the missus went on a 16 week trip last year to Europe and Africa (long service leave for the win). Moving around every 2, 3, 4 or 5 days does wear you out. By the end of it, we were ready to come home, but after a week I could've done it over again. I dont regret any of it though, trip of a lifetime!

You answered your own question straight up mate, sounds like a week up or down the coast is the go for you.
Others love long holidays, my best is 5 months- surfed my brains out and it wasn't long enough, really hard going back to work after that one.

I'm in the last two hours of 6 weeks in Nepal, it's just about the right amount of time. I'm ready to come home but at the same time I'd happily stay here longer if I could avoid all those adult responsibilities waiting for me. Like moving 400km and starting a new job.

But I've had a ball and am already planning to come back.

Not enough criminals, incest and meth smokers over here to make you feel comfortable?

Wearing high heels can lead to blisters and also doesn't work real well at the beach

Yep chancy.. good on ya. Must be holiday central where you live..

Where I live a luxurious holiday would be a trip to Tarthra for the weekend going to pull some squid from the Jetty and pulling a few buckets in the caravan park with me mates. Of course no holiday is complete unless you get a flake & chips and 4 dimmys to feast on..

Dude, sounds like you suffer from separation anxiety. Grow a pair, leave the nest and enjoy the world.

The thought of missing out on kiting my local in 35 knots alone is far more daunting than missing out on kiting tarifa with 4,000 exciting people that I could meet and have a great time with.
