Call me accident prone - but yesterday I revisted the scene of my last toe skewering, by stepping on a piece of holly bush which emebedded itself a couple of cm straight into the ball of my right foot...digging this out was not pretty for those who witnessed it - but last night in true Altona tradition, my foot blew up.

4 hours waiting for antibiotics at the Emergency dept where they made me have an x-ray to see if the spike had pierced the bone - x-ray inconclusive, so its kick back on the anti's and see what happens.

I dont know if booties would have saved me ... probably not given that the last time I got skewered it was thru booties....

The Warning is that most of this foot mangling activity occurs in the top lagoon - be very careful when walking around here - it also contains a nice selection of razor sharp mussels.

Ah the joys of kiting...and I am meant to be packing up the house to move tomorrow - think I will do an Eddie Murphy from Trading Places impersonation on a skateboard to make that happen.

Damn that was a big prick! It was was F'n HUGE! I haven't seen a fella with a prick that big since... what was the name of that movie, the one with the two nuns and the goat?!? [}:)]

I still reckon it would have been worse if the thorn was stuck in your leading edge... that would have really screwed your day up

Rest well, mend fast, and see you on a beach soon.

BTW. Natural yogurt, or Yakult etc, should help reduce some of the side-effects of the antibiotics

You'll have to change your forum name to Dr Plow, good bit of," seaside surgery".Given the size of the ****e,booties might have made it worse. You wouldn't have wanted it stuck half in the bootie and half in ya foot screwing around.

Good to see ya got it looked at,as Azza said,it was "F'n HUGE"
