Anybody cut-down a twin-tip ?
In the past,
I've chopped off 12cm from a 150 TT (6cm off each end) to make an instant 138 TT.
Just took my saw to the board, docked off the pieces and sealed the raw ends.
The board worked but maybe I was just lucky.

Now I'm thinking of chopping off another 5cm total from the same board and shrink it to 133cm.
If I do the cut,the back part of the fin will overhang the end by a couple of cms.
Will the board work with 2.5cm of fin overhanging the end ?

Regards,
slave.

HMMM... WOULD KINDA BE LIKE KNIVES HANGING OUT THE BACK OF YOUR BOARD! PROBABLY CAUSE THE FINS TO BREAK-LOOSE EARLIER WHEN POINTING TOO FAR UPWIND... BUT THEN AGAIN, IT MIGHT MAKE THEM REALLY GRAB. INTERESTING EXPERIMENT.

JUST DO IT!

... AND LET US KNOW YOUR FINDINGS "PROFESSOR SLAVE"

Hey Soonee... Always wondered why your fins had VB emblems on them.

I've got a bad feeling about the fins overhanging the ends.

The fins have a big pressure differential from one side to the other. This is OK when the fin is tucked neatly under the board, but when they see the light of day I reckon they are going to suck air.

Anyhow, I hope I'm wrong as I applaud the willingness to experiment.
